Tuesday November 17th Concert Season begins Promotional Contest between strings and brass, organized by the Youth Council with the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena.
This first concert will take place in the Auditorium of the Conservatory of Murcia, at 19.10 hours, and will feature performances as soloists five winners of the last edition of the competition, accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena.
These young artists are:
Tortosa Francisco Sancho (I mode Drum Award)
Felicia Gomez Escudero (I mode prize Woodwinds)
Miriam Silva Martinez (I mode Song Award)
Thomas Joseph Garcia Vazquez (I prize Guitar mode)
Vicente Manuel Cascales Mogica (I mode prize Brass)
The concert will begin with the Cartagena Chamber Orchestra, directed by Andrés Pérez Barnabas, who will play the Romance Op. 42 by Jean Sibelius, continuing with the same orchestra accompanied by soloists winners of the eighteenth edition between strings and brass.
The first touch will Tortosa Francisco Sancho, a former student of the Conservatory of Music of Murcia, playing a piece for Marimba and String Orchestra premiering for the first time in this beautiful setting.
The work has been made to present in this Promotional Concert Series, by Matthew Soto Composition Fundamentals Professor and Head, Department of Theory and History of Music at the Conservatory of Cartagena - Cartagena repeating the concert the next day.
Francisco Tortosa is now studying the first year of percussion at the Conservatory of Music of Murcia.
The concert will continue with Felicia Gomez Escudero saxophonist playing saxophone Fantasy for Heitor Villa-Lobos.
Felicia course of ¿Ontur Albacete and is a student of the Conservatory of Music in Jumilla.
It will end the first part of the concert with soprano Miriam Silva Martínez Cartagena I prize song mode - which along with the orchestra will perform four works by GF Handel, WA Mozart and G. Donizetti.
Miriam attends 4th of oboe and singing at the Conservatory Narciso Yepes of Lorca.
The second part of the concert will be soloists Thomas Jose Garcia Vazquez ¿Vicente Manuel Cascales guitar and trombone Mogica ¿which respectively perform the Quintet for Guitar and String Quartet and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra Friedebald Gräfe , in charge of ending this magnificent concert which will be apparent from the first to the last of the huge talent of these young performers, worthy winners of last year's contest between strings and brass.
This series of promotional concerts will continue in the Auditorium of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena and Lorca, taking place in our city on Wednesday 18th at 19.15 h, and Thursday 19th in Lorca kicking off the concert at 19, 00 h.
In Cartagena will participate together with the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena also the first prizes in the categories of Piano, Strings, Guitar, Percussion and Woodwind: Lazaro Fernandez Millan (piano), Pedro Fernandez Millan (cello), Thomas Joseph Garcia Vazquez (guitar ), Francisco Tortosa Sancho (marimba) and Felicia Gomez Escudero (saxophone).
In Lorca will be responsible for closing this series of concerts: Lazaro Fernandez (piano), Pedro Fernandez (cello), Vicente Manuel Cascales (trombone) and Miriam Silva (soprano).
Admission to all concerts is free to fill seats.
