The government team of the City of Cartagena, led by its mayor, Jose Lopez, aware of the importance of the figure of Cartagena Isaac Peral, has undertaken a project to rehabilitate the mausoleum in the cemetery of Our Lady of Remedios St. Lucia place where the remains of Peral from November 1, 1927.
The initial phase of this initiative, consisting of a thorough cleaning process and consolidation has already been executed.
Similarly, in the near future, other actions of greater significance in the burial, built during the years of rule by Alfonso Torres will be held, which will result in dignifying the site and provide it the importance it merits illustrious marine and inventor.

The monument, of Deco (purely decorative artistic style of the 20s), designed by architect and sculptor Victor Beltrí José Moya Ketterer.
It consists of a veined gray limestone sarcophagus, with the central body allegorical bronze reliefs showing the Marina and the Sea, being supported on large table legs with acanthus leaves.
The set is covered with a cloth made of very sharp folds carved in white marble.
