The popular councilman Antonio Calderon has stressed "the importance of the views of the associations and organizations working in the field of disability when planning actions that impact greater benefits for this group."
Calderon has visited this morning the facilities APICES Cartagena, to see first hand the activities and services offered by the association, together with the popular council, Esperanza Nieto and area director of the Social Work of La Caixa in Cartagena, Diego Garcia -Esteller.
Calderon has reiterated the commitment of the Popular Party with associations working in the world of disability, to work in a coordinated manner, "without families and associations would not be possible to achieve social recognition and the level of integration that these people need" .
At that meeting, the councilors have heard the popular demands APICES association and have done a tour of the facilities, keeping contact with staff and students who make up the center.
In this sense, they visited the various workshops offered by the association, such as ceramic, restoration or screen printing, "these activities enable them to develop skills that promote the independence of people with disabilities," said the councilman.
