The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez (MC), received this morning the new Force Commander of the Navy Protection (GEPROAR), Brigadier General Francisco Gacio Painceira Andrés.

Gacio Lopez congratulated on his appointment, and also shows the desire of the City to maintain the excellent relations between the two institutions.

Andrés Francisco Gacio Painceira took over as commander of the Protection Force Navy last September 14 during a ceremony at the Legion's Levante Marine Corps, located at Naval Station Algameca Cartagena.

It shall exercise command of the Force Protection Army, which brings the Third South (located in San Fernando), the Third of Levante (Cartagena), the Third North (Ferrol), the Association of Marine Madrid Security Unit Canary Islands (Las Palmas).

Its mission will be to provide physical security for bases, facilities, centers, organizations and Navy personnel.
