Master students of the School of Industrial Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) will obtain a double degree with the University of Stuttgart, one of the most prestigious universities in Europe in the field of Engineering, starting next year.
The agreement signed today will allow each course to move three students of the Masters in Industrial Engineering and three of Renewable Energy UPCT Germanic country to Germany and two other come to the Polytechnic University of Cartagena to pursue their studies.
Students of the Master in Industrial Engineering will study a double degree with M. Sc. Maschinenbau-und Werkstoff Produktionstechnik.
They will have to take the first year in Cartagena and the second in Germany.
Students of the Master in Renewable Energy, which is a year-long study in the first course held in Cartagena and Germany in order to master and an internship project.
They will study a double degree with M.Sc.
Energietechik.
Students who go to Stuttgart performed an internship in a company or research groups.
German students to come to Cartagena with the researchers conducted UPCT.
The requirements to study in Stuttgart are having the title certification B2 B1 level in English and German, according to information provided by Francisco Vera, deputy director of International Relations at the School of Industrial.
Mercedes Practices
The School of Industrial UPCT works closely with the University of Stuttgart for years through Erasmus agreements.
Through these agreements, some students of the School of Industrial have done internships at Mercedes in Germany, through the relationship between researchers from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and Stuttgart.
Currently, two students doing their doctoral thesis at the German university, hired by the research group of Dr. Gadow in Stuttgart: Benancio Martinez and Miguel Jimenez.
The agreement was signed today UPCT the rector, Jose Antonio Franco, and the rector of the University of Stuttgart, Wolfram Ressell.
Integrated by professors Rainer Gadow, IMTCCC Manager (invested as Honorary UPCT in 2013), Günter Scheffknecht, IFK Director Damian Vogt, ITSM Manager, and Christine Dos Santos Costa, head of delegation of the University of Stuttrgart Mechanical Engineering Center, has used his visit to the city to meet the natural gas plant tailings Valley and building laboratories ELDI UPCT.
The double degree agreement has been achieved thanks to the close collaboration of the Directorate of the School of Industrial Engineering and professors José Conde and Jose Andres Moreno with researchers from Stuttgart and especially with the research group led by Gadow.
The University of Stuttgart is a member of TU9 consortium, which groups the nine major universities of science and engineering in Germany.
It has highly valued studies in civil engineering, mechanical and electrical, as well as, especially physical and chemical sciences.
Other international mobility agreements
Example bet UPCT by the international education of its students is the agreement with Edinburgh Napier University (Scotland) schools Industrial, Telecommunications, Architecture and Building Engineering, Roads and Mines, whose students can obtain a double the Scottish university degree, in the final year in UK.
More than fifty students from the Polytechnic have already benefited from this agreement and the employment opportunities it gives them a British degree.
UPCT also has double degree agreements with the University of the Aegean (Turkey), for students of the Master in Advanced Techniques in Research and Agricultural Development and Food (TAIDA);
with the University of Warsaw (Poland), for which they will get a Master's degree grade two students from the Faculty of Business UPCT, and the University of Algarve (Portugal).
All these agreements are reciprocal and allow students of these universities obtain a double degree at the Polytechnic of Cartagena.
