This morning took place the inauguration of the course on basic operations in tourist environments, given by the Association for Comprehensive Care of People with Down Syndrome and their families Cartagena (ASID).
The event, which was held at the Youth Center Canteras, was attended by the Councillor for Culture and Heritage area, Ricardo Segado.
ASID will train students with disabilities who receive practical training two days a week in Canteras, while in the very center of ASID in the industrial area of Santa Ana theoretical subjects will be taught three days a week, including weekly visits to different cultural centers the city.
The course ends in June, and it prepares students to perform different jobs as an administrative assistant, cleaning or janitor.
Furthermore, since the month of September until December next year, students will take actual practice in different enterprises in Cartagena.
Councilman Ricardo Segado together have been the president of ASID, Juan Carrasco, and the manager of the Association, Carmen Vargas.
