The Social Center neighborhood Villalba hosted last week the closing of the Sewing Workshop and clothing Recycling Project organized by Abraham Association in collaboration with the Department of Social Services City of Cartagena, an act that was attended by the mayor, Carmen Martin;

the president of the Abraham Project Association, Nuria García, and the president of the Neighborhood Association, Manuel Alex.

During the ceremony, the ten women who participated in the workshop collected his diploma, which certifies 40 hours of theoretical and practical training received and the Abraham Project Association, meanwhile, donated sewing machines and equipment for this group of women can continue to expand their knowledge and facilitate the start of an economic activity to improve their social, family and work situation.

Sewing Workshop and Recycling Apparel began on September 7 and has been taught by a volunteer from the House of Formation and Spirituality San Jose, Carmen Gloria Miranda.

The socio-professional integration of vulnerable groups and improving the environment along with the reduction of CO2 emissions, are the objectives of the partnership between non-profit association and the Cartagena council, working with the most vulnerable neighborhoods.

Therefore, the selective collection of clothing, shoes and toys are made through the containers that the association has available to citizens in the municipality.

After the association as authorized manager, he is responsible for recovering such waste through recycling and reuse.

SHARES IN VILLALBA BARRIADA

The Department of Social Services City of Cartagena, in collaboration with the Instituto Murciano Social Action, through a grant from the Roma Development Plan, initiated a series of actions of Community Intervention in the neighborhood Villalba.

These actions were intended to stimulate the social fabric and promote actions in the most vulnerable sectors: basic computer workshop for women, Workshop School Support and Occupational Training for Young People.

In parallel, there has been a diagnostic study of the neighborhood collecting the demands and needs of the neighborhood, in order to promote actions to improve the welfare of the population.

Regarding ACTIONS promotion of women in the area, besides the computer workshop, has conducted a series of talks with topics demanded by these, social service resources, educate our children healthy habits and prevention Gynecology.
