The ceremony began with a speech by the president of Repsol and SK also the ambassador of South Korea, the industry minister or the president of the Autonomous Community, which have highlighted the importance of the opening of this plant.
After unveiling a commemorative plaque, attendees made ​​a tour of the facilities Ilboc, the largest production plant of new generation base oils in Europe with a capacity of 630,000 tons per year.
The plant is owned by SK ociety s Korean and Spanish company Repsol. The products are intended for the European market, and its supply forecast is 40 percent.
In its construction 250 million euros that employed around 169 companies s and an average of 500 workers, with peaks of 900 invested.
The company, founded in 2012, directly employs 90 people and more than 100 indirect jobs.
Ilboc, a leader in Europe
Ilboc produces high-grade base oils d, called Group 3, which are the raw material for lubricating oils of new generation, suitable for the operation of the Euro VI engines mandatory in Europe since 2014. These lubricating oils contribute to reducing greenhouse emissions and extend the life of the engines.
Moreover, from a year ago has started transport ships and tankers lubricants are produced at the plant.
This opened in Cartagena is the second plant there in Europe for the manufacture of these products, but the most modern and important.
It occupies an area adjacent to the refinery, about 36,000 square meters, aimed at two processing units, and another area of about 56,000 meters square s for storage and shipment of products, both connected by a pipe 4.5 kilometers of length.
