The Governing Council of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) has welcomed today the commitment of the regional president, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, to postpone the implementation of Electrical Engineering at the Catholic University San Antonio (UCAM).
The Minister of Education and Universities, Maria Isabel Sanchez-Mora, given in writing to the rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Jose Antonio Franco, the president's commitment to the Community and the counselor's own move to the Board of the Regional Government whether to postpone any decision on the introduction of Electrical Engineering at the UCAM "until a more detailed justification, opportunity and suitability analysis is carried" said graduate degree.
The college UPCT expressed his most emphatic rejection of the implantation degree in Electrical Engineering from the UCAM based on technical arguments and objectives.
Thus, the Governing Council supports the position of the governing team and seconded the rector Franco who kept voting against the implementation of such title in the last committee meeting of the academic committee of the Inter-University Council of the Region of Murcia.
The Governing Council UPCT has asked the regional government to ensure quality delivery of technical degrees in the region of Murcia.
