The Museum of the Roman Theatre in Cartagena, the Foundation make up the Autonomous Community of Murcia, the City of Cartagena and Cajamurcia Foundation hosts from today until January 17 the exhibition of Pedro Cano 'Fish', comprising watercolors where the painter blanqueño represented 24 types of fish.
The exhibition will be inaugurated this afternoon, at 20:00, by the president of the Community, Pedro Antonio Sanchez.
The Minister of Culture and Spokesperson, Noelia Arroyo, who presented the exhibition with the author and councilors David Martinez and Ricardo Segado, highlighted "the extraordinary talent of Pedro Cano both to make us dream landscapes invented to represent reality through their works. This time, with the exhibition 'Fish', which is certainly one of our best artists and great ambassador for the region, we are immersed in the Mediterranean and in the arts of fishermen, transmitting also to those who approach his watercolors of his life and memories, which is what really makes this work unique. "
Self Pedro Cano explains that the smell of fish was one of the first must have felt when his father, returning from the square after the sale in the fish stall and family salted, and his hands still flaky, he approached kiss.
This linkage of the painter with the sea and its fruits, with markets, fishermen and their nets, which gives its name to the exhibition '?????', the Greek word for 'fish' and that holds religious significance .

The exhibition will be temporary in the living Museum of Roman Theatre from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 20:00, and on Sundays from 10:00 to 14:00 hours.
From October 1, the weekday schedule will be reduced and will be from 10:00 to 18:00.
Other activities
On the occasion of the exhibition 'Fish', the Roman Theatre Museum will host other activities such as the photo exhibition 'PescaSOS', organized in collaboration with the Association Columbares integrated imaging provided by different authors about artisanal fishing in coastal murciano- Almeria and marine reserves of fishing interest.
Also, in the lobby of the Hall of the Museum audiovisual 'Back to the Future', directed by Damian Rubio, documenting the history and tradition of artisanal fisheries in the Mediterranean coast of southeast Iberian through the voices it will be screened and the stories of the fishermen themselves.
Another activity, in collaboration with the Fishermen, will be the watercolor workshop 'Painting fish with Pedro Cano', to be held in the old fishing district of Cartagena, in the vicinity of the Callejon de la Soledad and the Roman Theatre .
The meeting will be on September 26 (10:00) and will begin with a guided tour of the exhibition 'Fish' by the artist.
The workshop is open to children and adults and participants must bring their own paper, stand, watercolor and brushes.
