The XXIV Swim across the Port of Cartagena this weekend will bring together about 200 athletes, young and old, from the clubs in the city and other areas in the region.

The event, inserted in the sports programming of the Festival of Carthaginians and Romans, was presented this morning to the media by Councilman Sports City of Cartagena, Ricardo Segado, accompanied by Francisco Dominguez Padilla, president of the Federation Swimming in the Region of Murcia and Margarita Dominguez Cabezas, the Cartagena reference in the Spanish swimmer swimming.

The event will be held on Saturday 19 September, starting at ten o'clock in the Club de Regatas and the basin of the Port of Cartagena.

It is organized by the Swimming Federation in collaboration with Ancora swimming clubs and Cartagonova Cartagena, the Sports Council, the Federation of Carthaginians and Romans and the Directorate General of Sports in the Region of Murcia.

The competition will feature maximum safety and is suitable for smaller to swim 300 meters and older have a journey of 1,600 meters.

Mowing Ricardo stressed that the Sports Council is committed to the Cartagena swimming and going to establish a cooperation agreement with the federation for organizing this event, where collaboration is explicit and material resources planned and coordinated with people order to ensure the success of the test.

He also explained that it is expected that more than 200 people to do sport this weekend in this institutionalized activity that particularly pleases the participants for the festive and cultural environment in which it operates.

For his part the president of the regional federation, Francisco Dominguez, said the interest in testing among many swimmers on the stage the wonderful setting of the harbor basin, including foreign athletes in the area of Torrevieja and Alicante.
