Cartagena Local Police has launched an information campaign to inform drivers of regulatory changes that will be applied to the use of Child Restraint Systems (CRS) from October 1 such as those under 18 and shorter than 135 cm may not ride in the front seat.
Therefore, those shorter than 135 centimeters must travel in the back seat of the car with its corresponding SR I, in accordance with Royal Decree 667/2015 of 17 July, which amends Article 117 of the Rules of the road, in which regulates all matters relating to compulsory use of safety belts and child restraints in vehicles.
This amendment indicates the requirement that children go properly in SRI in the back seat of the vehicle, unless the rear seats are occupied by other minors that height, it is not possible to install all necessary chairs or that try a two-seater vehicle.
Until October 1, it will be when they come into force these changes, the under 12 could ride in the front seat, retaining systems if they were lower than 135 centimeters, and belted if they were taller than 135 centimeters .
