UPCT Tuesday hosted a meeting of the four Spanish polytechnic universities, Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Valencia and Cartagena, in which it is agreed that the 'UP4' group that make collaborate to provide joint services for research, technology transfer, university education and science.
With the aim of "adding to multiply," the four polytechnics have decided that its researchers develop jointly hold joint patents and days to publicize companies with the potential of developing applied research.
The polytechnic also be offered joint masters.
Specifically, we work to provide a 'four hands' a postgraduate BIM (Business Information Modeling), the so-called 'big data', including intercollegiate titles under study.
It will also promote the creation of a joint team to participate in international competitions of vehicles made by students, as Formula Students.
And technology will be organized popular science camps for students of ESO and Bachiller, to be held in summer period and is intended to assist students from different regions.
"We want to convey to society, with the support of governments and companies, the need to generate vocations in the field of engineering, also seeking gender parity among prospective students," said Emilio Trigueros, Vice President of Strategic Planning UPCT.
"It is not logical that in Spain we have a quarter of engineers per thousand employees that the most innovative countries, which intend to emulate," added Trigueros.
In the conclave, held at the Faculty of Business at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) have participated rectors of four academic institutions and the respective managers and Vice Rector of Research, Students, Academic Technology Information and Communications and Strategic Planning.
