Since the Delegation of Students of the School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) and the Student Council of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) understand that at present the training offer in the region of Murcia is balanced enough so that will substantially increase the training available to existing qualifications.
As students and future graduates see with great concern the devastating consequences of oversupply of graduates, jeopardizing the future of university degrees and the future of a generation already hard hit by past imbalances.
As academics and members of society, we request that the incorporation of new degrees or increased supply of existing, serious and rigorous study of the demand and the current situation of the same, based on official reports done the social impact of such decisions.
Specifically, regarding undergraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering Dentistry and do not understand how it is possible that the approval to increase the number of places is given when labor demand is covered at present, a view supported by the different schools professionals, whose reports indicated that there is no reason at present to increase the offer.
Moreover, the report Facts & Figures University System Spanish course 2014-2015 ', prepared by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, shows that the demand for degrees in engineering has decreased at a rate of 25% in the last decade.
On the other hand, the Curriculum, as the name suggests are 'plans' and do not understand how the Regional Government may allow the introduction of a degree in which, according to the information provided, there is no entitled for that title in the faculty staff (at least this is reflected in the information provided in the Degree in Electrical Engineering from the UCAM and revealed by the report issued by the College of Industrial Engineers of the Region of Murcia), with futuribles in terms of infrastructure and laboratories and curriculum practices posed without agreements signed today, or at least do not appear in the documentation.
Given the above, we demand the non-inclusion of Electrical Engineering degree at the catalog of titles at the Catholic University San Antonio until there are no independent reports indicating the need to increase the current offer such degrees in the region.
