The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) will participate in the creation of the business accelerator that is part of the project in the neighborhood of Entrepreneurs through which already created the Center for Urban Innovation, headquartered in the building Laboratories, Teaching and Research (ELDI) University.
This business accelerator will follow the model of Israeli business.
The objective of this program is to attract entrepreneurs multinationals and foreign investment.
Israeli businessman Isaac Chocron has met with the rector of the UPCT Jose Antonio Franco, and with the vice-chancellors of Internationalization, Jose Manuel Ferrandez;
Research and Innovation, Alejandro Diaz and Economic Planning and Strategic Emilio Trigueros to illustrate on this business model.
Chocron, who also had a meeting with representatives of the City of Cartagena, has reached the port city through the president of the Chamber of Commerce, who contacted him by the project in the neighborhood of Entrepreneurs.
During the meeting, it was revealed that Israel invests 4.7% of GDP in innovation, while in Spain only 1.3%.
"We come to teach how to adapt the Israeli model because we are today a point that everyone displayed in international investment and could build relationships and make what happens here, resonates internationally", said Chocron.
He shuffled to create three different programs in business accelerator, one to create schools experiments high innovation, another to create a business accelerator high focused on innovation potential and one to provide high-level companies that can be converted into multinational or to attract these companies.
According to the Israeli entrepreneur, "the entrepreneur needs help in its initial phase to only have to worry about putting 100% of your talent and not to seek investment."

The business accelerator will mainly target the support at an early stage to new business projects.
