The Ministry has invested in recent years more than 17 million in improvement works in the town centers and institutes
The Minister of Education and Universities, Maria Isabel Sanchez-Mora, met with the mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, to explain all the details about the construction of the new school in Cartagena council of La Aljorra, among other matters of interest related with education in the city.
Initially the City proposed to build the center lands that were declared "unfit and flooded" by regional and municipal technicians, and in this sense Sanchez-Mora insisted that "the center is to be built in a non floodplains and with maximum guarantees for students and parents "council of Cartagena, as say the technicians of the Ministry and City Hall.
The school will have a budget of 4,024,520 euros, 9 classrooms for kindergarten and 18 for Primary.
The center, funded by ERDF, will unite students from both levels in one edifcio, as requested by the educational community of La Aljorra.
The Ministry of Education and Universities has already met with the parents of AMPA Aljorra and has channeled its requests in the project to build the center, which will be released in October.
60,646 euros in works this summer
The regional government has invested in works to improve educational infrastructure in Cartagena more than 60,000 euros this summer, divided between remodeling the toilets CEIP Beethoven (17,950 euros), adaptation of toilet CEIP Virgen del Carmen (6,824 euros) adapting spaces IES Ben Arabi (3,883 euros), the repairing exterior staircase IES Isaac Peral (3,010 euros), the division of technology in the classroom IES Los Molinos (18,103 euros), repair the roof of the gym IES Mediterranean (2,528 euros), and in remodeling spaces CEIP San Ginés de la Jara, Pozo Estrecho (8,345 euros).
17 million invested in improvement works
The Community has invested a total of over 17 million euros in the last seven years to improve the centers and institutes of the municipality of Cartagena.
Works made from construction of new classrooms or sports courts for conversion and adaptation of spaces.
The Minister of Education and Universities stressed that "a regional government's commitment to continue providing Cartagena of the best educational facilities, and continue working on that line."
