The Polytechnic University of Cartagena has tendered, by open, the power at high and low voltage in the form of price-indexed pool.
Companies have until September 10 to submit bids.
With this bidding process UPCT expects to achieve savings in electricity bills while reducing their ecological footprint.
Electricity consumption in 2013 was the largest source of emissions in the UPCT (1,540 tonnes of C02 equivalent, 53% of the total generated by the University), according to a study at the Polytechnic of Cartagena own.
The Vice President for Infrastructure and Sustainability UPCT been implemented since 2012 measures to reduce energy consumption that have enabled the University to save about 200,000 euros a year.
Among the evaluation criteria are taken into account, besides the best deal for the price of energy in different periods and types of delivery, less overrun by detours and source of energy.
It is a condition that at least 50% of the energy supplied from renewable sources, valuing the renewable sources is greater than this minimum.
