The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, described as a series of indispensable infrastructure that will serve to strengthen the fabric of the city, among which is the ZAL, the Mediterranean corridor, the AVE and the dock Gorguel.

Lopez addressed the businessmen of Cartagena this afternoon in the framework of the General Assembly COEC, which has come along with the Deputy Mayor, Ana Belen Castejon, and other members of the government team.

The intervention occurred in the closing ceremony.

Lopez recalled that one of the cornerstones for the transformation of the region is to strengthen the business sector, economic engine and driver of growth.

To achieve this, the region needs a certain infrastructures, fundamental and indispensable, to end the neglect of Cartagena have suffered and are suffering, by administrations.

The mayor noted as such the Logistics Activities Zone of Cartagena (LAZ) and customs;

the connection to the central freight corridor linking Madrid to Cartagena with Chinchilla line;

Reguerón the bypass for the AVE reaches the region immediately, without waiting for the excavation of the routes in Murcia;

and Dock Gorguel priority project which is still in a dangerous state of paralysis.

It has also included in this list support the project of the submarine S-80;

the implementation of an automated licensing system works and activities through certified companies;

and fostering innovation projects and technological research for application to the business world.

Lopez has also alluded to the articulation of a communication mechanism between enterprises and vocational schools to identify the needs of skilled manpower and strong support to the self, which he described as the eternal forgotten.

Lastly, he defended the independence of business and trade unions, who must work with full autonomy in the defense of the interests that give meaning to their existence;
