Agronomists researchers specializing in production of cucurbits (pumpkins, squash, cucumbers and watermelons, among other fruits) meet from Monday 22 June to Friday 26 at the V International Symposium on cucurbits, organized by the International Society for Horticultural Science and is held in the auditorium of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
During the event will be present and discuss the latest findings and trends in research with experts of international importance.
In addition, it will also participate the business sector, from seed companies to producers and traders, in order to exchange ideas and concerns between researchers and entrepreneurs.
For Wednesday June 24, a technical visit to facilities and Agricultural crops Perichán, South Pozo and Procomel be held.
The Murcia region stands out as one of the largest exporters of horticultural products at national and European level.
Therefore, with this visit is to show participants the reasons that make this production area an ideal place for the production of Cucurbitaceae enclave and observe first-hand the production and marketing methods typical of the region.
The last day of the symposium a technical conference focused on more applied as horticultural horticulture new techniques rootstocks (both as Solanaceae Cucurbitaceae), experiences or aspects of seed will be held.
The collaboration of the companies in this technical workshop is a key to get first hand experience aspect.
