Councillor for Social Services, Carmen Martin, accompanied by the president of the Abraham Project Association, Nuria García, and the president of the Neighborhood Association of the Virgen de la Caridad, Juan Gomez, attended Thursday the closure of Educating in family, social and educational project development that has been developed, this time in the quarter, led about thirty families in poverty.
The initiative of the Abraham Project, being aware of the existing need, this project poses to the Social Work of La Caixa, obtaining financial support for its financing and the cooperation of the City of Cartagena.
Since the last quarter of 2014, they have been holding a series of meetings attended by all stakeholders, as well as neighborhood groups, also including representatives of CEIP Stella Maris Polytechnic IES, parents and children, establishing guidelines for the work to be performed.
Among these lines to try include communication with preteens, verbal violence, resilience, cheating, bullying, self esteem, etc., materializing all in a series of activities, including departures in group exhibitions, libraries, cultural weeks, Christmas activities, Carnival and many others.
Moreover, it has integrated parents, with children, in using the computer room Neighborhood Association.
To this must be added the healthy eating guidelines that have been developed.
As a result of all this work, officials of the Polytechnic CEIP IES and Stella Maris have received a very favorable change in the boys, who have also had the opportunity to approach their future labor market via Discovering I want to be higher, where professionals from various sectors have talked with the boys, exposing the various options and how to reach them.
