Philip VI has made ​​a visit to Cartagena, first as King, to preside over the celebration of the centenary of the submarine weapon. The King has arrived mid-morning at Arsenal where he visited the base, and Flotilla School submersibles and, subsequently took place on the anniversary ceremony on the esplanade of Alfonso XII Pier, where in addition to honoring those who gave their lives for Spain, there has been a parade with soldiers of the three armies.

Once there he visited the Base, School and Submarine Flotilla.
The purpose of the visit is the commemoration of the centenary of its creation, which was authorized by Alfonso XIII, in February 1915, with the signing of the Miranda Act.
It has also unveiled a plaque to commemorate the centenary of the submarine weapon and has toured the facilities, which has seen the four submarines that make up the Flotilla, the Galerna and Mistral, still operating, the Siroco, discharged, and Tramontana.
From 12.30 the second part of the King's visit where he presided over a military parade of the three armies on the esplanade of Alfonso XII Pier has occurred.

The ceremony was also attended by civil authorities as Defense Minister Pedro Morenés, President of the Autonomous Community of Murcia in office, Alberto Garre, President of the Regional Assembly in functions, Francisco Celdrán and the Mayor of Cartagena functions, Pilar Barreiro.
