Fire and Civil Protection make recommendations for the Night of San Juan (18/06/2015)

Looking ahead to the celebration of the eve of the festival and to avoid incidents, have launched a series of suggestions to the citizens, taking into account the distances when placing the fires or drive safely firecrackers and rockets

Night of San Juan is near a popular festival celebrated in the streets, where neighbors lit their fires and fire rockets and firecrackers, and also traditionally receives special attention by the council that through the Service Fire Fighting and Civil Protection, has launched a series of recommendations to the public to enjoy and avoid incidents.

The first issue to consider is where you can put the fires, which in no case be less than 500 meters from a forest, or within 15 meters of facades, vehicles, street furniture and electrical lines or telephone .

Nor can light fires in cobblestone or paved roads, and are arranged in places that may interrupt the passage of emergency vehicles, and in a radius of 15 meters, must be clean of vegetation and combustible materials.

In addition, the height of the fires may not exceed 4 meters, not throwing them flammable materials or they can explode and, once burned, will have to turn it off with water or dirt.

On the other hand, will also have to take security measures when using firecrackers and rockets (keep them away from the body, do not throw them against anyone, not keep them in your pockets and put them on bricks or bottles), as well as Chinese and other flying items fire inside (it is governed by the Regulations of the CARM: Order of May 24, 2010 Ministry of Agriculture and Water on measures to prevent forest fires -BORM No 121 28/05 / 2010- and Law 43/2003 November 21 -BORM Montes 22/11/2003 n ° 280).

As for the recommendations in an emergency, if we see that a person burns:

Apply cool water two or three minutes in the affected area, cover it with gauze or clean cloth and go to a health center.

Do not break blisters.

Do not apply ointments, creams or disinfectants whatsoever.

Do not start the remains of clothing that may have become stuck.

If we burn the clothes:

No running, and stoke the flames.

Drop and roll to smother the flames.

Cover your face with your hands so that the flames do not reach the face and the hair and the gases do not reach the lungs.

Ensure that the flames have gone out before removing clothes and never take it off over her head.

For any emergency call 112.

Finally, firefighters remind other prevention measures aimed at people living near places where bonfires are installed, such as withdraw clothes that may have hung to dry and flammable or combustible goods nearby or on balconies.

In nearby ground floor with gardens, it has recommended that clean of brush and twigs and even have prepared a hose with water.
