Cartagena Circus Theatre hosts the zarzuela The Last Romantic, represented by the Mediterranean lyrical picture of the Association of Friends of the Zarzuela of Cartagena, on Friday June 12 at 21.30. On the stage of the New Theatre Circus artists rise as the tenor Diego Pedro Plazas, Luisa Torres or Elisa Sandoval, considered the best soprano of the Region of Murcia in 2014. The Acting Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero, President of the Association of Friends of the Zarzuela, Rafael Bueno and Jose Maria Vazquez, who fled to the presentation of this zarzuela at the Palace Hall.
With libretto by the Spaniard José Tellaeche and music teachers Reveriano Soutullo and Juan Vert, The Last Romantic, it premiered at the Apollo Theatre in Madrid on March 9, 1928, with great success among the public, and considered one of the works most important of the genre, although little represented by its difficulty and costs.
