Arts workshops developed by the People's University of the City of Cartagena along the present course 2014-2015, have come to an end, culminating in an exhibition of works by students of the same, showing that inaugurated Thursday at the Cultural Center Ramón Alonso Luzzy, with the assistance of the councilors of Culture and Celebrations in office, Rosario Montero and Florentina Garcia.
In the exhibition, students of drawing and painting workshops have started from a review of the traditional concept of still life.
They extol the works presented, especially the concepts of light and shade, shape and volume under a monochromatic vision.
Ceramics workshop has worked around a traditional Japanese glaze known as Shino, and have applied to parts for the tea ceremony from the perspective of wabi-sabi aesthetic philosophy of appreciation for the natural and modest, and the austerity in artistic gestures with about sixty works.
Twenty Sculpture are the works.
In this mode they have focused on investigating the expressive power of the human body, creating a series of sculptures composed of several figures in different attitudes.
The exhibition is open until Friday, June 12, from 9.00 to 14.00 and from 17.00 to 20.00.
