The Book Fair of Madrid will host next June 3rd Meeting of the 'Good Practices in the Promotion of Lectura', organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports- in which will be presented as an example of good practice in promoting Reading the 'Mandarache Award' City of Cartagena (Murcia). project

It is a project of the municipal area of ​​the city of Cartagena to promote reading that stands out for collaboration between various democratic local cultural agents and the high participation of adolescents and youth, who make turn a large jury and determines several awards for narrative.

Also it includes, among other activities, meetings with writers, book clubs or interventions in urban space.

It highlighted by the desire to bring quality literature for young people in transition to adult life.

The last year was awarded the National Prize for the Promotion of Reading, Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports allocates a subsidy of 40,000 euros through aid for the promotion of reading and Spanish literature of the Office for the Promotion of Books, Reading and Spanish Literature to the organization of this meeting .

Nine projects as examples of good practice

During this meeting will be announced a total of 9 projects as examples of good practice of reading promotion targeting different audiences: one aimed at groups at risk of exclusion, other developed in the field of sport, libraries, for families, etc.

Among the nine projects also highlights the project 'Book, I love you' by the Book Fair in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a program that aims to create a multidisciplinary meeting around the promotion of reading and culture in general;

the 'Festival Letters and Football' of the Athletic Club Foundation that promotes meetings, lectures, workshops presenting football as an attractive vehicle to promote closer promotes reading and reading clubs participating in the Athletic Bilbao players with fans .

Among the participating institutions, the German Sanchez Ruipérez Foundation presents its project `Houses Lectoras' to promote reading in the field of family.
