The City of Cartagena, through the Department of Education has carried out the issue
Municipal Plan for the Prevention, Monitoring and Control Truancy where the proposed objectives and detailed measures for reducing truancy in schools in the municipality between the years 2013-2016 and the
Municipal Action Protocol in which the actions to be taken by each of the actors involved to achieve continued attendance of school to their classrooms, ensuring training and individual and collective growth are defined.
Both documents have been prepared by the Municipal Technical Committee on Absenteeism and Neglect School, established by Order of the Ministry of Education which regulates the Regional Program for Prevention, Monitoring and Control Truancy and Dropout Reduction (RESP program), the which it states that such committees will have, among its functions, coordinating the development and implementation of the relevant Municipal Plan and the systematization of its activities under the coordination of the Regional Board of School Absenteeism and Neglect.
