Focusing on specialty geriatric care for dependents, for its implementation, the Agency has signed partnership agreements with the City of Cartagena, the Messengers of Peace Association and the Little Sisters of the Poor
Thirty student workers of the Joint Programme for Employment and Training Agency for Local Development and Employment, will start its work practices after theoretical training received in the Occupational Training Centre of Canteras, and they will thanks to agreements maintaining partnership with the City, Messengers of Peace Association and the Little Sisters of the Poor.
The PMEF, aimed at unemployed people, aims to facilitate their employment.
This program lasts 12 months and 1920 hours, including theoretical and practical work and students that go well beyond what successful, they receive the corresponding Certificate of Professionalism in his specialty.
Students workers who have now begun their work practice are the specialty of geriatric care for dependent people, both in institutions and at home.
These practices are carried out in the Residences Senior Virgen del Mar and Sisters of the Poor, as well as the home help service the City of Cartagena.
The development of practices is based on the philosophy of learning by doing, the cornerstone of such programs, and allows the same time, first the students to apply what they learn in the classroom and on the other, the move in a real work environment, directly connects the students to the working world.
The experience they gain gives them the skills that they had not obtained if only theoretical training, so that any company that hires a worker who has completed this has the advantage that knows the job from day contract program which represents a qualitative advantage over other more theoretical training.
The Joint Employment Program-Training is funded by the Agency of Local Development and Employment of Cartagena, the Regional Employment Service and Training of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, the Ministry of Employment and Social Security and the European Union, through the European Social Fund.
