The researcher at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena Natalia Falagán has received an award from the G's Spain Chair UPCT for best oral presentation of a research project during the 4th Workshop of Agricultural and Food Research, which this week brought together 90 experts Technology and Food Engineering, Agrifood Biotechnology, Technology and Engineering Plant Production and Agroforestry Engineering and Economics.
Falagán is considering "several deficit irrigation strategies, creating water stress nectarine trees extratemprana to activate defense mechanisms biosynthesized compounds beneficial to health, such as vitamin C and total phenols, which have high antioxidant potential," explains researcher.
The research is being developed in a plantation of Molina de Segura and is the subject of the doctoral thesis Falagán, part of the research group of postharvest and Refrigeration, in collaboration with the Soil-Water-Plant and finance group AGL2010-19201-C04-02 project of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
The award of the Chair of G's Spain in the UPCT is endowed with 400 euros.
The Agrifood Research Workshop is organized by the PhD in Advanced Techniques in Research and Agricultural Development and Food (TAIDA).
