The Minister of Development, Public Works and Planning, Francisco Barnabas, signed today with Transportes Urbanos de Cartagena an agreement, amounting to 129,000 euros to finance the so-called UNIBON, which students and staff benefit Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) and Associated Centre of the National University of Distance Education (UNED).
Barnabas emphasized that this title of transport was used by 79,000 people last year, which "is achieved efficiently in order to enable policies to promote public passenger transport that contribute to realizing the right to mobility citizenship, and in particular groups such as the university, while thereby promoting respect for the environment and decongest traffic cities, and in this particular case Cartagena ".
UNIBON, financed and subsidized title "allows to use public passenger transport to these groups, helping to increase security on the go and makes more economical use of the bus who are their regular users," the counselor.
Under the agreement, the grant is awarded to Urban Transport Cartagena, concessionaire of urban transport of Cartagena and nearby bound UPCT and Associated Centre of the Open University in the city as compensation for the implementation during the year 2015 UNIBON title on a monthly basis in the amount of 20 euros, valid for all lines of public bus transport in the municipality of Cartagena, for students and university staff properly be credited with the appropriate license.
