The Popular Party candidate for mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, has proposed property tax rebate to 50% at coastal hotels to open throughout the year as a measure to break seasonality, on a visit he made to Cabo de Palos and La Manga, along with members of the municipal candidates.
Pilar Barreiro believes the sun and beach tourism as a major tourist town values ​​that can be exploited throughout the year and for that reason is committed to further promote senior tourism programs to expand the presence of tourists beyond summer season.
The candidate recalled that the program of tourism has brought 8,000 senior Austrian tourists who have stayed in the month of May in hotels on the coast and in September will be 7,000 Czech tourists who will visit our area.
Barreiro considered important to establish tax incentives for hotels to help to open all year round and tour operators to include our offer of sun and beach out of season.
For the candidate, the People's Party has opted to maintain the quality of the services on the beaches of the municipality which has placed Cartagena, for the fifth year running, as the municipality of Spain with more beaches awarded with quality Q and the Mediterranean with more blue flags.
Barreiro is committed to continue working to increase the number of beaches known for their quality and service in the city, 'the sun and the sea are also treasures of Cartagena and we have to take care of a traditional tourist who has brought great wealth to the town.'
