The Popular Party of Cartagena addressed in this legislature the excavation of the Roman Amphitheatre to incorporate this monumental building tourism product in the city, they said this morning the candidate Pilar Barreiro in a meeting with more than 30 artists, creators and cultural managers municipality.
At the ceremony, Barreiro has been accompanied by the candidate No. 1 to the Regional Assembly for Cartagena, Elena Ruiz, and municipal candidate Fernando Saenz de Elorrieta, along with members of the municipal Party candidacy and Cartagena.
Barreiro said the visits will be compatible with the excavation for the site is immediately profitable touristically.
The candidate for mayor recalled that in the next legislature will complete the excavation of the Barrio del Roman Forum, in which a new interpretation center will be created, and, in addition, the project will culminate Roman Theatre recovering and adapting to visit the void behind the scene.
The Popular Party also proposed in its recovery program of the festival Much + Mayo, which represents a huge opportunity for young creators of Cartagena and excellent formula of activities to fill the streets of the historic center.
In this sense, Barreiro stressed the Museum Night, "the most important cultural event in the region and beyond, driven by the Popular Party and concentrating on a single day more than 60,000 people."
The candidate believes that we must re-organize the removals and Book Fair festival set to enrich the cultural events of Cartagena offer.
Cartagena Barreiro believes should remain protagonist of the great cultural events and use them as bait for the tourism industry.
In that sense it reiterated its intention to continue to support the great cultural meetings, such as the Night of Museums, the The Sea Music Festival and the Jazz Festival.
The candidate also expressed its commitment to tackle the project of a new library equipped with the latest technologies and adapted to new demands.
It will be a new infrastructure to maintain the level of the network of libraries of Cartagena and support for initiatives such as the prestigious prize Mandarache.
