On Friday, May 8, will be released in the Auditorium of El Batel the close result of the eighteenth edition of the regional competition of young performers of classical music, between strings and brass, which annually organizes the Conservatory of Music and the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena.
In the 7 modes guitar, string, percussion, singing, woodwind, brass wind and piano, the finalists have had a high level and the participation was admirable, it has become very difficult decision for the jury.
This year was also the most participation has registered January 67 young people from different conservatories and music schools throughout the region.
So students from the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, Murcia, Lorca, Caravaca, Cieza, San Javier, Jumilla, Molina de Segura, CIEM Federico Moreno Torroba and Schools Kodaly and Anmavi demonstrated over the past two months his talent in the semifinals and finals held in the auditorium of the Conservatory of Cartagena.
Given the level that demonstrate each year the participants in the competition, it was the need to increase the amount allocated to awards in this year, adding in each of the modes third prize.
So the economic amount reserved for awards is the amount of 10,000 euros, establishing a first prize in each of the modalities of 750 euros, a second prize of 350 euros and a third of 150 euros.
The deliberations of the various juries have been really complicated, given the quality of the musicians, having to examine even the smallest detail to give judgment.
Friday May 8 at the Auditorium and Convention Center The Batel (room A), is finally unveiled the names of the winners in the eighteenth edition of the contest between strings and brass.
The Gala Awards Ceremony will start at 20.00 h. With a performance by Aaron Jover Tenor Vidal (First Prize in the category of Song of the last edition of this contest) accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena.
The second part of the Closing Ceremony will continue with the awards ceremony of the XVIII edition, convened in all modes.
A time of uncertainty and possibly nerves for young musicians who have been waiting for the past two months to know the verdict of the different juries.
The evening will end with the performance of the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena also directed by Andrés Pérez Barnabas.
This group put the finishing touch to the closure with the interpretation of the well-known work of Georges Bizet's Arlésienne, complete with an exciting program which will accommodate the Flemish specialty that is taught at the conservatory since 2009.
