The Governing Council authorized the Instituto Murciano Social Action (IMAS) to invite tenders for the reservation service and occupation of 60 new residential places for people with mental illness in the region of Cartagena, amounting to 4.79991 million euros .
The contract, once awarded, will run from July 1 this year until June 30, 2019 and aims to ensure comprehensive care for people with mental illness in a situation of dependency that require some care services activities of daily life that can no longer get around them.
Currently, the IMAS has 725 places for people with mental illness, of which 288 are residential and 387 are in day centers and 50 in sheltered housing.
The supply of residential places, with this new service will increase to 348 seats.
