The Local Government Board has approved the accession of Cartagena City Networking project against alcohol consumption by minors, through the Children campaign a drop.
Over a hundred reasons to drink no less driven by the Spanish Federation of Spirits (FEBE) and the Ministry of Health.
This national initiative arose from the National Survey of Secondary Education ESTUDES 2013, held in younger students aged 14 to 18, in which it was found that children start the consumption of alcoholic beverages at very young ages ( 13.9 years);
Three of every four children report having drunk in the last month and most of them drink to get drunk;
and consume all kinds of alcoholic beverages, beer being the most consumed during the week and package over the weekend.
FEBE and the Ministry of Health have created a campaign that aims to combat alcohol consumption in children from a preventive and educational perspective evidencing giving reasons why the only valid underage drinking is zero consumption.
By joining this project, the City of Cartagena develop specific pledges to combat alcohol by minors with the involvement of local celebrities and collective actions.
Actions will also be promoted with Hospitality / Distribution under the motto I do not sell alcohol to minors, and other targeting parents and families.
The campaign will run for 18 months.
