The Cultural Hall of Caja Murcia hosts from Monday 13 until April 24, the exhibition ES development cooperation.
Organized by the Spanish Cooperation Agency (AECID) in collaboration with the City of Cartagena, the sample is part of the activities of the European Year of Development 2015, sponsored by the European Commission.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon, and the directors of Cabinet and Communication AECID, Fernando Castillo and Ruben Lopez.
The exhibition is presented as an approach, an introduction and introduction to the field of cooperation.
It is not directed exclusively to a specialized audience, but preferably the general public.

The show, which will turn later by other Spanish cities, is preceded by two collective actions that have been held in the Plaza de San Francisco and in which citizens have participated: A giant flashmob and an interactive map, with augmented reality.

Among the parallel activities that will connect citizens with the work of the Spanish Cooperation will also be a series of films with titles that address issues close to this reality.

2015 EUROPEAN YEAR OF DEVELOPMENT
All activities are part of the celebrations of the 2015 European Year of Development sponsored by the European Commission, whose main objective is that all Member States make visible citizens face their efforts and results in international cooperation, also promoting the direct participation of citizens in this area.
Under the motto our world, our dignity, our future, the ultimate goal is to establish the idea that Spain and Europe are important for poverty eradication.
DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION IN CARTAGENA
From 1994-2014 were allocated aid continuously since the City of Cartagena projects of international cooperation for development, maintaining at all times the public announcement of grants.
Thus, in these 21 years have supported a total of 165 cooperation projects for a total amount of 3,138,724 euros, including more than 10 specific actions to help in emergency disaster in different parts of the world, always coordinated with the Spanish Agency International Cooperation for Development (AECID).
The mean of projects funded annually reaches 8, placing us in the last two calls above this average, 9 projects in each.
Some of the countries that have been developing projects supported are: Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Algeria (Tindouf) Burkina Faqso, Mauritania, Ghana, Mali, Bolivia, DR Congo, Madagascar, Angola, Kenya ...
Also include the creation in 1996 of the Municipal Council for International Development Cooperation, consultative and participatory body whose purpose is to promote, facilitate and channel the participation of citizens and their associations in municipal affairs related to cooperation, solidarity and human development.
At present there are 18 entities that carry out projects of international development cooperation, of about 9 are turning to the municipal public call for subsidies.
