Unemployment data for March in Cartagena confirm the downward trend in unemployment in the town, according to the mayor, Pilar Barreiro, although it has been shown cautious about this new positive data.
According to statistics unemployment in Cartagena has dropped by 472 people during the month of marz or, representing a decline of over 2%
For Barreiro points out that those are the best of a March in Cartagena, both in absolute terms and as a percentage.
Unemployment has fallen this month in the service sector, as befits the Easter season, but has declined by the same percentage in the construction sector.
In both the decline was 2.8%.
The mayor pointed out that there are good and bad for the unemployed months, but what matters is the trend that mark these ups and downs, and that is positive in the medium term.
Right now we have 1,100 fewer unemployed than one year ago now, Barreiro said.
And so is 5% less unemployment.
And that decline since last year occurred in all sectors.
The service is down 4.5%, but construction has fallen by 8 and industry 9.5% this year.
Meanwhile registered contracts increased by 10% compared to February (2,284 more) and were 16% more than in March last (1,533 more) year.
