The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and the Minister of Health and Social Policy, Catherine Lorenzo, have placed this afternoon the first stone of what will be the new Primary Care Center in El Llano del Beal, located between the streets and Liberty Medical José Aldaz.
Works will be conducted in a municipal lot and will be financed by the city of Cartagena. Construcciones María García Martínez SL will be responsible for their ejecuión within eleven months, with a budget of just over 256 thousand euros.
As highlighted by the mayor, this office will complete the primary care network in the municipality of Cartagena, consisting of 41 offices plus 14 peripheral health centers.
The construction of these peripheral offices allows, as noted by the Minister of Health and Social Policy, bringing the most remote villages the possibility of medical care because the number of inhabitants warrants, as is the case of El Llano where it will serve about 2,300 inhabitants.
Later this year, is likely to have completed the first phase, and will begin a second phase will be the construction of a social club, right in the anezo site now occupied by the old office and which will accommodate associations area.
The two buildings will be connected by a central park, but each will have their schedule and their particular operation.
