A student of 5th of Industry Engineering, proposes the use of heat pumps high performance for conditioning Architect School & EDI, among other measures
A final thesis at the Technical University of Cartagena (UPCT) indicates the necessary steps to ensure that the future headquarters of the School of Architecture and Building (Architect & EDI) is a building energy consumption almost zero, as well has the Directive European energy efficiency of public buildings.
The work done by the student of Industrial Engineering, Pilar Meseguer, will establish the criteria for design and dimensioning of new facilities in energy efficiency.
The aim of the project has been co-directed by Professor Fernando Illán and vice president of Infrastructure, Equipment and Sustainability, José Pérez, is to define the requirements of energy supply and basic infrastructure building efforts to achieve consumption building nearly zero energy (ECCN) and study its technical and economic viability.
Heat pumps
The student of 5th year of Industrial Engineering, who also enjoyed a scholarship in the Department of Infrastructure and Sustainability UPCT concludes in his work, after evaluating different technically feasible options, combining energy-efficient and leads to less CO2 emissions is to use heat pumps high efficiency condensing aerothermal for air conditioning in the building, installation of ACS with biomass boiler, LED lighting and power supply warranty from renewable sources.
Thus, UPCT meets the requirements of the European Directive 2010/31 / EU on the energy efficiency of buildings and the timescales in Spain for compliance: the December 31, 2020 for all new buildings and the December 31, 2018 for the other new buildings occupied and owned by public authorities.
