Cartagena, 20 March 2015 Plural Left (a coalition of IU-V and SPCT) denounced the insecurity that occurs in areas with access to two public schools in our town, such as today are the CEIP San Antonio Abad and Vicente Ros, echoing complaints of school communities and locals.
In the case of Vicente Ros, the problems are due to the lack and deficiencies in the signs.
Thus, in the intersection of Carmen Conde and Doctor Barraquer, despite having a vertical signal giving way at the corner of that educational institution, the existence of trees and a crosswalk with chaflan hampers visibility the signal, which means that many vehicles do not respect and this causes high-risk situations for both pedestrians and the rest of cars passing through the area.
Similarly, residents claim that in the corner of Doctor Barraquer with Juan Fernández there is a give way sign that fall is from some weeks ago without having been taken to his reinstatement in avoidance of possible traffic problems in an area already in itself controversial.
In the case of San Antonio Abad insecurity that occurs in the area where students of this center access and leave the same facilities in the Avenue New Cartagena no road signs at issue preventing school zone.
Also, there is no road markings (crosswalk) against the school gate.
All this translates into uncertainty for children and their escorts to hours Check-school hours.
