The Department of Social Services in collaboration with the IMAS, CEPAIM Foundation Work of Jesus, neighborhood associations, neighborhood Villalba College and the IES Elcano, offers workshops for school support, basic computer and vocational training
The Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena, in collaboration with the Instituto Murciano Social Action, is developing in Villalba neighborhood program Prevention and Social Integration within the Gypsy Development Plan.
This is a community intervention activities that began in December last year and conclude the month of May, which aim to boost the social fabric and promote action on the most vulnerable.
The actions are:
- Workshop tutoring aimed at children / as between 10 and 16 years aimed at preventing school failure and early school leaving.
It takes place from Monday to Friday from 16.00 to 18.00 hours in the local office of the district until next May 29.
- Workshop for Women basic computing which aims to promote the use of new technologies in finding employment and the development of daily errands.
It is done in the computer room of the school Villalba Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 09.15 to 11.15 hours.
- Course of vocational training for young people aged 16 to 24 who has two modules.
The first is computer and basic skills (from March 23 to April 10) with a duration of 44 hours, and the second city maintenance (from April 13 to May 29) with a duration of 165 hours.
This course will be held in the neighborhood so it can serve as a tool to enter the workforce or continue your career path of young people who are unemployed.
Parallel to these actions is making a diagnostic study of the neighborhood and collecting demands and needs of the residents to promote actions that lead to improving the welfare of the population.
