The PP candidate for mayor of Cartagena has said that the program of home help service annually serves more than 1,200 people through various programs such as home help service, Telecare, meals at home and respite .

The PP candidate for mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, highlighted "the commitment of the government of the Popular Party in the care of the elderly, through an extensive program of activities with the aim of improving their quality of life and well-being ".

Accompanied by the Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon, Barreiro held yesterday afternoon gathering 60 largest in the town of Cartagena in the PP headquarters, where he informed them of the actions carried out by the City Council.

In this sense, the candidate for mayor noted that municipal home care services have been increasing their performance in recent years "today, serving more than 1,200 seniors with an annual budget of over one million seven hundred thousand euros, intended for programs such as home help service, Telecare, meals at home and respite ".

Remarkably, in the program of home help service have benefited 470 people and is intended to facilitate the quality of life of older people maintain their personal autonomy.

As for the Telecare, is serving a 466 majors with a 24-hour service that allows these people maintain their independence living at home.

Barreiro has also emphasized that since social care is provided daily meal to about 170 elderly through the Meals on Wheels service.

The candidate has said that the PP government guarantees elderly care, ensuring the maintenance of its independence, being able to live at home in the best possible conditions.

On the other hand, Councilman Social Care, Antonio Calderon said engagement with major associations and clubs Federation, "Every year we signed a collaboration agreement for the support and maintenance of socio-cultural activities, rent, water, light with 42 clubs with an annual budget of about 90,000 euros ".
