The Local Government of the City of Cartagena has this morning approved the modified hydraulic project affected renewal and urban services on the street Captains Ripoll, which will lead to the improvement of the existing collector at the junction with Paseo de Alfonso XIII and construction a weir to avoid flooding.
This action will also allow the construction of a roundabout at the surface of about 55 meters in diameter and three lanes with which it is intended to give more flow of traffic, as reported by the Town Planning and Infrastructure, Francisco Espejo.
The cost of this modification will be about 170,000 euros, 17 percent of the total budget of the work Captains Ripoll, which is around one million euros.
The implementation is expected to be two eight weeks, so its completion will be within the initial deadline of works, in the month of May, according to Espejo.
The mayor also explained that the recent rains revealed the shortcomings of this collector that collects water Almarjal area and the need to undertake improvements, including a spillway to prevent flooding.
OTHER ROUNDABOUT IN CABO DE PALOS
The Board of Governors has agreed to declare social interest the construction of a new roundabout access Cabo de Palos by the Las Dunas.
According to the Councillor for Infrastructure and Planning, Francisco Espejo, the agreement will be forwarded to the Autonomous Community to initiate negotiations with the developers in the area, who are willing to bear the cost of its construction.
This new roundabout addition to solving the problem of entry and exit to Cabo de Palos on the fast track to La Manga, also facilitate access to the mall area of Las Dunas, where investment perspective, generating employment, according to the Councilman.
