The UPCT inaugurates the center that will house to form a 25 cartageneros entrepreneurs selected for this year's YUZZ program "Youth with ideas', with the support of Banco Santander, through Santander Universities.
The training will be provided in the space of the Chair of Entrepreneurship Santander-UPCT in the new Laboratory Building, Research (ELDI), Campus Muralla del Mar at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
The 25 young people, selected from more than 2,000 applicants from across the country (fifty in Cartagena), have been chosen by aspects such as entrepreneurial profile, track record, ability to communicate the proposed idea, the innovative component of the project, creativity and growth potential of your idea, among others.
Entrepreneurs selected are students and alumni of degrees and masters of virtually all disciplines taught at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena: Business Science, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, Telecommunications, Naval Engineering, Tourism and Civil Engineering and Mines
For the 25 selected the challenge of shaping and developing your project to make it a viable company today begins.
For this, the YUZZ program "Youth with ideas" that drives the CISE, with the support of Banco Santander and collaboration UPCT, shall make a workspace to develop their ideas, where they can interact with other entrepreneurs and receive formation of a network of over 200 professional experts that advise, along with an individual tutor, in carrying out the business plan.
Once completed the process of training and advice, the head of the best project UPCT travel to Silicon Valley, the world mecca of innovation in the field of new technologies, which provides access to forums funding, advice and contacts with investors .
Moreover, in turn, may qualify for financing to launch your business idea since YUZZ distribute 60,000 euros in prizes for the best three projects in the country: € 30,000 for first prize, € 20,000 for the second and € 10,000 for the third.
YUZZ is a program aimed at young people between 18 and 30 who provides, for five months, support, training and guidance for developing business plans based on ideas of technological base.
In its previous five editions were created more than 500 companies and over the past year involving 600 entrepreneurs with 378 projects.
This year will be more than 900 young people who will give life to your idea.
Santander International Entrepreneurship Centre is an initiative born from Banco Santander, through Santander Universities, the Government of Cantabria and the University of Cantabria, through the UCEIF Foundation to promote entrepreneurship of individuals, groups and companies .
