Psoriasis is a very common disease, in fact 4300 people suffer from this disease in Cartagena. Psoriasis, skin hides what is an initiative of Action Psoriasis has organized an exhibition where six human figures shows the different situations of psoriasis and how it can affect more than skin deep.
The presentation ceremony was attended by the Councillor for Health of the City of Cartagena, Ã ngel Nicolas Bernal, Santiago Alfonso, manager of Action Psoriasis and Elena Saguero, member of the Official College of Pharmacists of Cartagena.
The exhibition will be located in the Heroes Square Cavite 2 to March 5th and 6th at the Plaza Juan XXIII.
The main problem of this disease is how little people know it.
For this reason, Action Psoriasis, together with the collaboration of the City of Cartagena and the College of Pharmacists have prepared this exhibition that will resolve the doubts of many patients suffering from this chronic disease.
30% of patients with psoriasis states that this disease greatly affects their quality of life.
Psoriasis can trigger other health problems and psychological disorders, obesity, diabetes, hypertension and Crohn's disease.
The manager of Action Psoriasis, Santiago Alfonso explained that the aim with this exhibition is to break taboos and barriers of ignorance of the pathology, educate and train the patient to other diseases associated with psoriasis, very important and that both parties must known as the arthritic psoriasis.
About the disease, the manager said that psoriasis is a chronic disease that has no cure but treatments that require discipline.
We have to learn to manage pathologies.
Santiago Alfonso wanted to stress that patients discontinue treatment because, for associated diseases is necessary to control inflammation.
During 2014, the Psoriasis campaign, which hides skin toured the cities of Albacete, Almería and Ourense, being visited by over 10,000 people in more than 170 patients received personalized attention in situ by a nurse.
