The Mayor and the Minister of Education on Monday to attend the inauguration of the center, which will launch a pioneering educational project in the region centered on respect for the needs of children and their learning rates
Monday March 2 will be the official opening of the College and Primary Peñas Blancas in Tallante a ceremony to be held at 11.30 am and will be chaired by the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and the Minister of Education, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
College Peñas Blancas is an innovative educational project, a pioneer in the Region of Murcia and conducted by a group of families from Cartagena interested in giving their children an active and respectful education with the needs and interests of children and their learning rates.
Thus, consider it a priority that the school provide an environment where children feel physically safe and emotionally, creating appropriate learning conditions.
Another fundamental principle is to learn through experience handling all types of materials and tools, and for that feature a variety of equipment.
The school is also characterized by grouping children of different ages, to promote democratic life of the school community.
And finally, much importance is given free play as a natural way of learning in children, developing creativity and involvement of families in school activity.
The building that houses the College has been given by the City of Cartagena and adapted by families.
This is the old school of Tallante, which was closed a few years ago for lack of children.
Thus, it also helps to revitalize the area, which regains school and will increase their neighbors with families who are moving to live in the village to take their children to Peñas Blancas.
The legal form taken by the school has been to Consumer cooperative and social initiative, which means pursuing a social order, education, and has no profit.
