The Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena, through its Program on Immigration and Development Cooperation, held on Friday 20 February a new session of the Workshops Accompanying regrouped families.
This activity takes place from 2014 for all those people who come from their home country to our town grouped by family.
This allows the person to join their relatives, usually spouses and children, and thus start a new life project.
With these workshops is to provide orientation and support to engage the applicant at an early stage before and after the arrival of the family;
articulate and coordinate spatial planning and iimpulsar the promotion of women.
Since its inception there have been a total of 12 workshop sessions, going through the same 134 person s.
The City of Cartagena, through these actions, commitment to the revitalization of the reception and social and community support these new families in their migratory project, making these workshops at the beginning of a process of social and family advocacy, facilitating incorporation process in different districts of the municipality.
In a second phase, these actions have their continued with the addition of family members to the different possibilities that can be offered, Social Services, Murcia Health Service, Education, NGOs, etc, making them aware of the rights and obligations arising from new citizenship.
They are called Groups Training for Active Citizenship.
