225 high school students up to 28 centers in the Region of Murcia have participated Friday in the V Olympiad Agrifood and Agroambiental organized by the School of Agricultural Engineering (ETSIA) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
The objective of this activity is to spread the teachings set forth above in this center UPCT and contribute to society to know the importance of food industry in the Region of Murcia, says the center's director, Alejandro Pérez Pastor.
For this edition, which has increased its forecast of participants from last year, 225 students have done a test exam in one of the following three subjects: Industrial Technology, Biology and Earth Sciences and Environmental.
The secondary schools where students come are: IES Alquibla, Archbishop Lozano IES, IES Cañada de las Eras, Colegio San Pablo CEU, San Buenaventura Capuchin College, Colegio Severo Ochoa, Mediterranean IES, IES Ricardo Ortega, Colegio Santa Maria Peace, HH Marist La Sagrada Familia, Floridablanca IES, IES Gerardo Molina, IES Infante Don Juan Manuel, Espada IES, IES Los Albares, IES Los Molinos, IES Mariano Baquero Goyanes, Polytechnic and IES IES San Juan Bosco.
The opening ceremony was attended by the rector of the UPCT, José Antonio Franco;
Universities CEO, Luis Javier Lozano and the president of the National Conference of Directors of ETS Agronomists, Miguel Ángel Molina Garcimartín;
director ETSIA UPCT, Alejandro Pérez.
Also attending directors ETSIA the Polytechnic University of Valencia, San Alberto Bautista and ETSIIAA of Valladolid, Vila Maria Josefina, to organize a similar national Olympiad.
