The English students from Teignmouth Community School, located in Devon, this morning visited the Palace Hall where the Councillor for Youth, Ruth Collins has welcomed them to the port city.
For a week they enjoy Cartagena and will be in the month of April, when the students of the institute Los Molinos go to Devon to live the same experience.
This exchange is a way to put finishing touch to the program that the institute has developed over Los Molinos Secondary Education, which involves implanting bilingual education, specifically English, thanks to the agreement signed between the Centre and the Ministry of Education.
The program has been in place for over ten years in school and Emilio Hernández, director of studies at the institute Los Molinos explained what this program: our students, at the end of the ESO, we are now able to participate in an exchange with an English center.
In this way, you are allowed to practice what they learned in these years for a week.
Meanwhile, Caroline Gandy, professor of Teignmouth Community School, explained that our program is a little different.
It started four or five years ago.
We give classes in Spanish and French and wanted to give our children the opportunity to meet Spain for real, not just sun and beach tourism, besides knowing in depth the language.
During 7 days, students will be in Cartagena Devon and was this morning when the Councillor Ruth Collins has welcomed them and encouraged them to explore the city.
