The mayor, accompanied by the mayor of Women, inaugurated this morning the Conference on Gender Violence held Wednesday and Thursday in the old CIM, where a hundred participants analyze performance measures to follow from all areas
The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and the Councillor for Women, Clara Heredia, inaugurated this morning the Technical Conference on Gender Violence to be held today and tomorrow in Room Isaac Peral the old building + the CIM.
A total of 102 people have registered to deepen and meet those performance measures necessary in this matter, from areas such as education, social care, security, employment, health.
They are professionals and individuals interested in new insights to analyze situations from different sectors.
The mayor stated during the inauguration that such initiatives, s e is that all administrations and other agents can coordinate to intervene in such situations.
He also explained that there is still work to be done and impacted on the importance of reporting an abusive situation: We are still in time awareness.
There are many people who think that reporting is intruding on the privacy of a family, when in reality it is the opposite.
Barreiro has continued explaining how work in this area in the city of Cartagena is developed: The various councils of the City have twelve skilled in abusive situations so that not only act as a preventive measure but also the treatment of women, to children.

SCAN PROJECT
The Councillor for Women, Clara Heredia explained one of the strengths of this conference, the SCAN project.
Consists of dogs that work with women victims of abuse high risk and will do an exhibition on Thursday February 5, at 13.30 on the esplanade of the port.
This matter is being done at level 4 or 5 countries.
