The historic center of Cartagena is the context in which it is developing the project Intercultural Community (ICI), a new program of intercultural coexistence which fosters relationships, living conditions and social cohesion of its citizens.
Powered by Obra Social La Caixa and developed by the Cepaim Foundation in collaboration with the City of Cartagena through the Department of Social Services, this action will establish new relationships between citizens, administrations and technical resources so that these three actors contribute to social development.
To do this, we start from the basis of working together on an innovative proposal between two methods of social intervention, a community social work hand and on the other, intercultural mediation.
The initial phase, which is being developed now, is conducting a study on the reality of the historic center of Cartagena, with the participation of citizens, professionals, experts and representatives of associations of municipal departments and other administrations .
The first phase of the project will be completed around July 2015, then being planned for the celebration of the first community meeting the historic center of Cartagena for the pooling of all the work done so far and momentum for further action.
Remember that the project started walking last December with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the La Caixa Foundation and the City of Cartagena.
